	Dean Clark, owner of Coastal Lawn & Landscape was born and raised in the beautiful small coastal town of Belfast Maine. After graduating from Belfast High School in the mid 80’s he served his country in the National Guard and began a career as a Maine Photographer. It was while he was working as a photographer that he met his true love and now his wife Sonya (Owner, Sonya's Skin Care). He continued honing his photographic skills, learning how to appreciate details, composition, balance, contrast, color and beauty. Little did he know, this knowledge would later on be instrumental in creating beautiful gardens and landscapes and aided in the ability to pay attention to the details needed for world class property maintenance. 	After many years in this profession, he decided to go to work for a large banking organization that had just started up in his home town. He applied for a position at MBNA. This would allow him the stability needed to begin raising a family. Sonya and Dean now have 3 wonderful children, Cassidy age 9, Chance age 7 and Cole age 3. After a couple of years working on the phones, attending every educational program offered and earning his lending authority for the credit department, Dean realized he was not using his God-given talents. Dean and his wife decided he should apply for the facilities department at MBNA and learn everything he could about landscaping and taking care of a large facility. He had been doing this type of work on his own 17 acre property for 10 years and enjoyed every minute of it. It seemed to be a perfect fit. He was chosen for the position of exterior grounds maintenance, after 1 day in his new position he knew working to make the company’s facility and grounds as neat, safe and beautiful as possible would be his passion. He took advantage of every type of education and training that was offered by the company and attended classes at the University of Maine Hutchinson Center. He constantly increased his knowledge about managing, landscaping and horticulture. He quickly advanced in the company and at the end of his 7 year relationship he was the only exterior maintenance person that worked on what he called “the mini city”. The company name changed and new owners decided to announce hundreds of cutbacks. Dean’s position was one of them. With 2 little ones, a wonderful wife and a third child on the way, Dean and Sonya had to decide if he should start his own career in lawn maintenance and landscaping. They both decided this was his passion and they created Coastal Lawn & Landscape. He says it is one of the smartest decisions they have ever made. He loves what he does and does what he loves. He is now known for his world class customer service and attention to detail. Dean says his customers are always number one. His secret is to under promise and over deliver and most importantly keep every customer 100% satisfied. With the support of his wife Sonya and his three children, he knows this is the career he was meant to be doing.
